Hi John,
Where do I enter buy out items, like granite counter tops?

Good to see your first post!

To enter a buy out item use the Custom AutoEntry form and unless you have a saved buy out assembly you wan to use click the "load a blank item" button to start out with a new zero cost item. Then proceed to the materials tab. You can add a new part number to your estimate for the material buy out or use the "dollarparts" at the top of the material list. Personally I prefer to add a new part number so that when you run a material report you can easily spot the buy out material.

If you need to add any labor associated with the buy out item (could engineering time, install time, etc) go to the labor tab and make those entries there.

Lastly, if you want to use a different material markup for a buy out item you can either select to use the system-wide buy out markup or select to use a custom markup for that individual item.

Does that help?
Thanks for participating!
